PS3 died with game inside

Turned it on it automatically shuts off beeps twice and flashes a red light. I read online that this means a hardware failure and since I've had it 4 years my warranty is void. Any ideas on how to get the game out of the disc drive without destroying the shell?
My initial thought was hammer but I'd like to keep it intact so I can sell it for parts on ebay. Also, when is the expected launch date for the PS4? TIA

hold the eject button while turning on your system. worked for me when mine ylod'ed

You can take it apart and get it out. Is it the fat model?

I tried that several times but it shuts off too quick. Someone online said you can send it back with no warranty and Sony will send you a new one for a discounted price plus your game back.

Called Sony if I send them my ps3 they'll send me a new refurb slim for 129 plus I'll get the game back.

if you have the old fat ps3, flip the switch in the back to turn the power off, hold down the eject button and then flip the switch back on. thats how i got my game out when i had YLOD

when my fat ps3 got YLOD with a game stuck inside, I just took it apart and opened up the blu-ray drive.
