Maybe I'm old school but I still get a thrill from unlocking shite via scoring points. Gives me something to work towards, ya know?
Plus id hate to be deprived of the sweet "unlock graphic" that appears each time you hit a point milestone

While some feel it's punishing skilled players, I feel it's forcing you to be more aware of what's going on. You have to make good decisions, you can't just go balls-out and force your way through the map. I like the results and think the game will be extremely balanced going forward.

Flying in empty servers is extremely boring but if you need to practice, it is nice to have a place to do that

You should have found a hardcore server so I could have blown you up. I think I hit you a few times when I was in the jet. I may give them a go again.

Homefront did have some nice aspects. I did like that. Having a bounty also put you on everyones radar, which could be good or bad depending on how beastmode you were going.

Hurts your stats, and it won't really help you with actual combat flying, but it helped me just get comfortable with the chopper controls.

we all also started out on a level playing field. now damn near everyone has half the shite unlocked (and many have it all unlocked) for all vehicles.
i have just recently unlocked stealth for jets... that is like the 3rd unlock. as a noob jet pilot with limited jet skills, it is hard as frick to fly against skilled pilots especially if they have all the shite unlocked and know how to use it

I am not sure this is the case on consoles because the game never starts. it shows "Waiting for 'X' Players" the whole time you are playing. You can cap flags or arm/disarm mcoms but you get no points for it. you can kill players and die but you get no points and no kills or deaths show up on the scoreboard

Hmmm. With PC, if you don't have enough players, you can't go anywhere.

Sweet. I would prefer that to running around by myself as my SPM drops.
Counter Strike used to do something similar to this, but with full servers. For about 15 or 20 seconds pre-round, everyone could run around and knife people but nothing counted towards the stats. Every game should do this.

speaking of pre-round, now as soon as the map is finished loading and you able to spawn the game starts... i wish there was like a 5-10 second waiting period
