Looking at getting a handheld for gaming when I am just lounging around the house. I have an Ipad but obviously the touchscreen controls just isnt the same. I also have an XBone and Wii U but looking for something to just pick up from time to time without investing time in my man cave.

The Vita seems intriguing and at first was put off by lack of games but then realized most of the stuff seems to be online downloads vs in store.

Anyone have any experience with these?

3DS is better for games.

I only own a vita though and I love it. I like playing old playstation games, and RPG's on it though more than anything else.

It's nice having the entire final fantasy collection up to 10-HD Remaster on a handheld (and other great games as well)

Nintendo has the better selection overall but it depends what you prefer honestly. If you skew sony then get the Vita.

A lot of the Nintendo games don't totally appeal to me at least what I have seen in stores and I have the Wii U, just was concerned about longevity of Vita being it doesn't appear like much as far as physical releases...

This. It's dumb everytime someone tells you one is better than the other. They both have good games, just a different selection. Vita is better for RPGS and the better hardware overall. Nintendo has Nintendo games. Whatever you want...

The 3DS,

This isn't even a matter of debate.

Really?

Maybe I've just seen a bad display of games in stores. What games do you play on the 3DS?

You may have answered your own question. Vita isn't going away anytime soon. It has a lot to play, just not AAA big name games.

I want to clarify, I like the true Nintendo Games but also want other stuff. The random cartoon/movie based title you see in stores for 3DS doesn't appeal to me.

Well they both have good games. Look at the library and see what you want.

Zelda and Mario alone can almost carry the 3DS.

I just prefer RPGs and sony in general so I have the Vita

The Vita is a great little system. I got one right before my first child was born because I knew I would not have time to play for long periods. It was my go to systems for a while. There are a ton of games in the online store. I wish Sony would continue development of big titles for it but the support just is not there. The few that made it like Uncharted, Killzone, Need for Speed, Mortal Kombat were quite good.

Thinking if I get one it'd be Nintendo but this won't be played a ton and I saw 2DS with Mario Kart is 79.99

Any thoughts? Been years since I've had a handheld.

Besides 3D how much is really going to be missing? I know there is a "New" version but seems like only one game requires that

I love my vita. I play classics and jrpgs.

I don't like mario and most Nintendo games. I do want one for like bravely series, Stella glow, and youkai watch.

That's a pretty good deal. The 2DS feels like a cheap piece of hardware, but it plays everything just fine.

If cost is a factor, grab that. Won't find a Vita cheaper than $150.
