Tales of hearts a good place to start with tales? I was thinking about starting with abyss on 3ds.

None of the stories are related so it doesn't really matter where you start. Besides like Xillia and Xillia 2. Xillia is a great game by the way. I have never played Abyss but it is many people's favorite. When I get a 3DS Abyss and Bravely Default would be my first games.

I'll say this about bravely default, it's good but by no means the best of it's kind. I've enjoyed it but am kind of or ready to finish it.

Hearts is a very good place to start. I'd start there, Vesperia, or Xillia.

It wouldn't be my recommended starting spot.
Abyss has a very annoying main character that does develop later on. Not everyone makes it that long.

Dragon's Crown has a ton of content and is very fun. it has cross play/cross save with PS3 players too!

Not sure. I think the dev is just a small team. I know it's going to PS4 though.
