Do they usually come in the day the game comes out?

Depends on the store, check the shipping description on the bottom of the page.

Normally I get mine a day after..

You still have to wait until it comes out... Pre-order just means they're reserving a copy for you out of the ones they get.

yeah...they've always had any game I pre-ordered the day it came out.

Because compact disks are so difficult to manufacture in abundance and they'll never have enough of the game I want on the day it comes out!

When I worked at Gamestop, there were many games that for some reason, they only sent us the pre-orders the day of. Then a couple of days later they'd send like 2. If the game isn't a huge release, not many copies are making it to the store. I remember not being able to keep Borderlands on the shelf for about 2 weeks. The few copies we got were scooped up within a couple hours.

Any game I've ever preordered has been there the day of release. Actually, it's been there the midnight before. But I usually only preorder big releases (Halo 3, CoD-MW2, GTA IV, etc.).
