Playing skyrim: should I join Imperial or Stormcloak?

Just getting back to gaming. I know skyrim is an oldie, but it's fun as shite.
Anyhow, I'm not too interested in the main quest. Don't care too much about the saving the world. Side quests are more fun imo.
But still debating join either. Ulfric rubs me the wrong way, but I like the Nords. General Tullius has been fair to me.
Btw, at level 21, character is a mage. Wife is Lydia.

Join the stormcloaks, we rule ourselves, and we don't take shite from the culcha races from Cyrodil or Morrowind

Nords fight for their lands, right to farm, hunt, and be free. Nords just want to be left alone and live their lives out being farmers and peasants.
Imperials are shills to the Elves, and force their views on you. They cowtow to the biggest race haters there are, Aldmeri Dominion. Who actually enslave races and believe they are superior to every race. Even in the game, you get thalmor claiming themselves as superior.

The only bad thing about the Nords is Ulfric.
He plays the Nords for fools and really only has his best interests at heart.

How about if you just play through twice and join both factions. This is what I did

The game seemed to push the Imperials as bad so I joined the Stormcloaks, but Ulfric is a bag of dicks.

Twice? I've played that game I'd bet atleast 20 times.
It depends on my character, but joining the storm cloaks as anything but a nord is just goofy. They shite on every other race constantly.
