Playing a wii game on wiiU.

I got my son Mario Galaxy 2. The guy at GameStop said we can play on wiiU. As it is we have to use the game pad as a tv. Can it be thrown onto the actual tv?

Why do you want to throw the gamepad at your TV?

Yes you can play it on the television.
When you select the Wii icon from the Wii U menu, it will ask you for Gamepad or Television.
When you select the Wii icon from the Wii U menu, it will ask you for Gamepad or Television.
