phishing scams on PSN

Is this a thing now? I keep getting IMs from random people linking me to free PSN cards.

They're not scams. You have to give them your credit card info but they don't charge anything to it. A guy was gonna give me $500 worth of PSN cards last week but I had to cancel my credit card shortly after giving him my info because some jackass charged over 8 grand to my card in Maryland. Must have been one of those gas station pump scammers. So he couldn't give me the codes because my card was deactivated. But the codes are 100% legit if you can provide an active credit card number
