I didn't realize how terrible I am at reading a map until I was forced to use one. Altitude, cardinal directions, I get all turned around, especially alt tabbing. Just finding a deer stand was a fricking accomplishment for me
also describing landmarks..ahh

Naa, if you already have stuff, dont worry about it, we can try to get a map and then at least see when other players could be there.
Stout, im leaving for awhile, I may be on around 9 tonight, if I come back before class ill look for you on teh skypez

again, I think thats why burge and I made it as far as we did. I think i am pretty damn good with the map, I just cant see obvious shite in front of my face, thank God burge can. It amazing how incredibly accurate that map is once you really look at it.

I haven't played yet, but how do you meet up with a team? If you don't have a map at spawn, how do you know where the f you're going?
And when you get a map, how the frick do you read Russian? I'll probably have to spell everything out, unless it translates to English or something.

Easy big guy, its not that bad.
You can look at a map, the link is in the OP. You are told where you spawn in the second line each time you spawn in to a server, so you can get an idea by the landmarks on the map. Just try to have it open in a window on another screen or phone, and you just have to be able to read a map and landmarks to get around. Some people are better at it than others, haha
Whats a pain is doing it in the dark. That can be a real bitch

To meet up, you can all travel in different servers to a certain point, then log in to the same server and you will be there with everyone else. Just pick the place that is most convenient for the the group and you can all work on getting there on your own time until you can all spawn in together

Meeting up initially is one of the biggest first challenges.
Basically you always spawn on the coast, near a settlement.
I place my back to the coast (which is always south or east).. And determine my route by always trying to remember where the coast is relative to me.
I imagine ill get hella lost more inland.
SWeat mentioned some crazy shite about using the fricking north star at night when lost in a forest
the sun also isn't as easy to locate as id like..
Finding roads and intersections help but the god damn road signs are in russian

There are 24/7 daytime servers thankfully.

ight cool. i may not go into cherno then. but my curiousity is intrigued. ive yet to go into cherno, and the guy in that video i posted made it look not so bad. might go ahead and risk it and go into the big city and see what i can find. not sure though, decisions, decisions...

going into cherno isnt too bad..i made a stop by the hospital and found several boxes filled with morphine and epi-pens...left with about 6 of each. I also found a tractor earlier and was cruising around in it but was mauled by zombies when i ran into a roadblock

I think stout and I run the map on separate laptops, and Burge uses his phone. Until you get a map in game, you have to have one close by.

I read somewhere, i think the wiki, you want to choose slugs over pellets if you have the choice.

I have both slugs and pellets. Also have a .45 sidearm with 4 or 5 clips. I am northwest of Bor now too.
