I took Hawg's advice and respec'd Iron Bull into a tank but I can't get him to build any guard up even playing around with his tactics so now he stays at home too.
Bro I been playing this a couple weeks now. I'm not surprised my advice didn't work out. I barely know what I'm doing. He's doing ok for me as a tank, but I bet I see a noticeable difference once I try Cassandra or Blackwall as tanks.
Honestly tho I basically made iron bull a tank because he looked like a tank and I was trying to find a way to work him into my main rotation. I like him more than the other warriors, but I don't have room for a two hand warrior dps. My main group is two mages (healer + knight enchanter), rogue, and a tank.

Your knight enchanter and healer can be the same person (vivienne)
Altho I run dual mage too because I'm a mage. You can get away with a 2nd Mage Specced high dps but with 3 points into spirit to cycle barriers

as for Sera and Cole, they just have no place in my group right now though Cole might be the best geared out in my entire circle
Cole is my go to rogue. His specialty tree blows the other rogues out of the water

This is what I do. Seemed to make the most sense

If I use a rogue, it would be Cole but I am pretty set on my two mage/archer/tank set up.

3 ranged dps and a tank, interesting setup

First dragon took me 30 mins.
Just killed #9 in 2 mins and 1 min of that was flying around. Need to upload the vids.
The bow of the griffon is the balls nasty. Overpowered and not even fair.
Dropped a 50 mark of death.

Where did you get that bow?

This dang game sure has made work a pain in the arse.

I'm at around 135 and my next play through will be my "complete" play through
Edit: how are Dragon Age games with DLC?

Along with content I expect storage and more skyhold customization. They added other companions in DA:O in expansions Shale

I'm gonna be honest here, I've never played DA before but I generally enjoy RPG's. I'm more of a JRPG kind of guy but I occasionally get into stuff like this. I picked this game up after asking for advice about it on the DA subreddit.
I haven't played it very much but so far it feels very grindy. I know there is fast travel but it's very frustrating how long it takes to move around on the map. There are tons of enemies everywhere that simply take forever to kill and they respawn so quickly that if I just make a wrong turn or something and have to go back, I have to kill them again. I'm still in the early area - the first large one (Hinterlands? Or something) and I played there for a very long time before seeing a rip that you should leave, but every area feels like this. For a game with so much to do, there shouldn't be so much time wasted just killing weak mobs on the map.
This is why I never got into MMOs as well. You just spend too much time button spamming. More often than not these battles are not unique or interesting so it's just one big grind.
I'm still going to continue to give the game a chance but if it doesn't speed up I'll probably drop it. I honestly might just kick the difficulty down to easy just to make killing enemies faster.

What difficulty are you playing?
On normal, I had zero problem cruising through all of Hinterlands except the rift by the falls.
Hard is a big jump up. There are some areas of the Hinterlands best avoided until everything else is completed. Looking at you BEAR infested area. The Great bears will own you.
I never feel like I have to travel super far, but one of the first quests I do is the setting up camps, so I can fast travel most of the area.
All RPGs have some grind element. Maybe you just don't like RPGs because this one barely feels like a grind to me.

I've never felt like I was grinding once. More like exploring, questing, looting. . Never grinding

Hell, there were times where I thought there were too few mobs on the map.
The only place where there were constant enemies was the Western Approach.

As a matter of fact, what game are you playing?
Not once have I felt like I was "grinding" in this game.

Exactly. Not once has this game felt like a grind.
Also, the only area where enemies seem to be everywhere is the Western Approach. In most other areas, at times I wondered where all the mobs were.
What game is this guy playing?

I like how I can get side tracted from the quest I'm on by a group of mobs attacking.
See a cave, castle, another quest; next thing I know I'm on the other side of the map nowhere near the quest I was originally on.

Happened to me last night.
"Alright, let's finish this last quest before bed...OOOHHH...what's that question mark? What? I can't go to bed before finding out how this woman died. There, she can rest in pea...look another question mark!"
3 hours later...
"shite. I need to finish that quest I was on."
