So I have 8 and 10 year old boys. The oldest has asked for one awhile back but I know nothing about it. From what I see it has a ton of shooter type games but they mostly play Mario,Pokémon, and LEGO’s type games on the switch. Would this be a good get for them from Santa this year? Thanks for any info.

My almost 9 year old has had one for a while. Yes, it is limited on kid games. He does like the job and vacation simulator games. He enjoys climb and climb 2. There are a few free fishing games he likes.
Overall, it is a nice break for the family other than console games.

I’m probably “dad of the year” material for this—but my 4 year old has one and he loves it. It’s mostly too difficult for him to play games on it, but he loves the virtual experiences like dinosaurs and roller coaster rides.

mine played the hell out of beat saber with all his favorite imagine dragons songs for a day 1/2 ansd didnt ask to play again the next 2 days. maybe because he had sore muscles or maybe he likes his switch better.
i played resident evil for about 2 hours total now and have had it for a week, but im also newly single and am looking for attention outside of vid games.
i dont consider it a bad investment if its affordable for you. just make sure they have the wrist bands on when theyre playing and you have a solid 6x12 area open for them to play in.
worst case it will be like most gifts and theyll play it a few weeks and get bored with it.

Thanks guys. Sounds like they’ll be getting one. Any other game recommendations?

I'm also interested in game recommendations. Will be getting one today. Twin boys, 10 yrs. old.
