NX Summer 2016

So the rumor is the Nintendo NX will go on sale in about 9-10 months. I think Nintendo is going ot have to hit this one out of the park at launch with a system and network on par or better than the PS4 and stellar launch titles. That will be just the start though. What else will they have to do to compete with Xbox and PS4 this gen?

Have the capacity to make games not named Mario or Zelda. New IPs or no thanks.

They make plenty of good original games. Splatoon is one that has sold like wildfire and is addicting.

I agree. I've never been a fan of Nintendo's first party games except Metroid. They need to expand their first party line up and gain more third party exclusives. This seems like a no brainer but they did not do it with the Wii U. The Wii launch line up was not bad but it did not follow up quickly enough to keep up the momentum. That and it was underpowered.

Splatoon is cool but its not selling like wildfire. Its not a system seller either.

Just because a lot of people are saying it does not make it wrong. It may sound like sacrilege but I dont think most gamers care about the Nintendo mainstays as much. Not enough to buy a system just to play them.

They talked about this on the bombcast this week, and they feel it's highly unlikely we see a 2016 release. They're just now sending out devkits, and publishers are supposed to have something ready in 8-9 months?

Nintendo could TRY. Will have absolutely no 3rd party games and a new Mario Party.

The summer 2016 date is a rumor from a supposed Fox Conn leak that stated production orders were set for May 2016 I would not be surprised either way. .

I'm thinking we get a tease at next year's E3 at the most.
