1. What kind of game is this?
2. How are the graphics? They look weird
3. Will it be a fun game?
4. What would you compare it to?

Open world? Universe if we're getting technical. As far as I know, there isn't any ship combat or anything.

The graphics are how the devs wanted them to be. They're supposed to make colors 'pop'.

No one knows because it will likely just keep getting postponed.

Pretty much nothing because no other game has claimed to be about space exploration in as much depth as 'No Man's Sky' is claiming and allegedly consists of more than like a billion different planets that you supposedly visit.

Many people I know are interested in the title, but I don't know anyone who will buy this first thing without waiting for some reviews first.

1. Primarily exploration. Will also have some diplomacy and space combat. Will also need to mine minerals and precious metals to support your exploration.

2. Meh, they're doing their own art style. Simplistic with a focus on vivid colors. This isn't a game that's shooting for photo-realism.

3. That's the big question. How much fun can you have flying from planet to planet? Will the extra things like mining, deciphering alien languages, and space combat help keep it fresh?

4. Some say Star Citizen. Steam recommends similar titles as Pulsar, Elite Dangerous, Rodina, and Salt among others. I haven't played any of those though

I hope it's good. The basic idea of exploration is intriguing to me, but if it's MGSV's open world in space, then frick it.

The UI and menu system look a lot like destiny. I'd say it's a destiny/minecraft hybrid.

Look how close the UI looks to destiny:

There is crafting aspects as well, obviously not minecraft level but still..

I feel like it'll end up being Minecraft in space minus the crafting and the building. It'd be as if the goal of Minecraft would just be to explore the procedurally generated world.

the spaceship aspect does add an interesting twist, but even that would seem to grow old rather fast

So in other words, nothing like Minecraft at all.

Another similar space explorations game with some minecraft elements is Dual Universe.

10 min gameplay

Get a developer-guided walkthrough of Novaquark's new epic-scale exploration game Dual Universe, which looks a whole lot like No Man's Sky.
