Hello Games' highly-anticipated space exploration game No Man's Sky is less than a month away from its long-awaited release date. However, new legal issues have cropped up that could possibly delay the massively ambitious game's release yet again.
According to the Dutch Telegraph, a Dutch company named Genicap claims that it owns the "superformula" used to create the game's much-touted massive, procedurally generated universe, estimated to include 18 quintillion planets that will take players about 585 billion years to explore. Genicap claims that the No Man's Sky developer does not have a license to use their algorithm.

"We haven't provided a license to Hello Games," Genicap's Jeroen Sparrow told the Dutch Telegraph. "We don't want to stop the launch, but if the formula is used we'll need to have a talk."

Read this a few weeks back as rumors, is it for real?

I haven't seen any reports of a delay other than people asking will it get delayed

I gotta admit I'm really intrigued by this game and I'll probably get it, but every bone in my body says this game is a flop. I guess I'm just cynical.

Well I called 736 local GameStops and THEY said there won't be any delay so take that you rumor mongering scum.

Same here. Will wait at least 24 - 48 hours after release and watch people play it on twitch and read reviews before purchase.
It won't sell out or anything like that

Definitely checking out the sub now.
ETA: No panic whatsoever over there. They have a thread saying that the company likely won't sue and the game should come out as planned, but the two companies will likely just resolve it out of court or work with one another in the future.

I wouldn't trust that subreddit at all

This is a game I've been waiting for. I'll give it a try if/when it gets released.

DoUrden would still find a way to finish the game in 20 hours.

What a great statement. I love it.

He could find a way to put 100 hours into 20 hours. Clearly he has a flux capacitor
