I feel like an old out of touch dad asking this question, I just can’t figure it out. My 7 yr old has a Switch with a lot of the normal kid games (Mario games, Pokémon, Minecraft, etc.). We just got the new AEW Fight Forever wrestling game. Every time we turn it on, and every time we go to a new screen (main menu, options, etc.) it asks if we want to sign up for the Switch Online Membership. It makes it excruciating to play. We have no intent on playing online yet. I can’t imagine I have to sign up for this membership just to make it go away.

Any advice to turn this off? A quick google search turn up nothing.

Wish I could help ya. The online membership is only like $20 a year or something like that, so I never hesitated to sign up for it. Not sure how to address what you're seeing.

The mess of Nintendo Online is well known and has been ongoing for YEARS. I don’t understand why they can’t streamline it by now like literally every other online gaming service.

One of the main reasons my go-to gaming device is the PS5.

The PS Trophy collector in me is salty because its been how long and they still haven't come up with a similar system for the switch.

This is definitely pretty annoying.

And let's not forget, this online infrastructure has been around for a while, Nintendo could easily implement at least the basic features, but they choose not to.
