You're thinking of the Mini. That is an Xmas release and is NES games only.

a tablet that's a high powered console and the highest powered handheld...$300 is awesome.

I hope you're right.

ask anyone who owns a tablet why they have one.

answer:
email
internet/shopping/streaming
messaging
games

how much do tablets cost? more than $300

if the switch is what I think it is, it is pretty much the definition of versatility and added value. Now as a gamer, I don't know what that means to you. As a Nintendo fan, don't know what it means to you. In terms of consumer appeal...Nintendo stock is worth the risk. It will be higher than the 25k yen at some point probably during the holidays with Mario run and nes mini...so if I hear more and don't like it, I won't lose money

But the Switch will be a lesser experience in all but the bolded, especially if it's using a Nintendo OS.

i think the interface will be completely different from the Wii and Wii U experience. Patents reveal it may have GPS which makes me think Nintendo has big plans, or I should say prans

I liked my Wii U because of games and Netflix/Amazon. If the switch can compete with the One and PS4 and convince 3rd Party Developers to jump on board then I might but it

Your faith is something to admire.

I tend to err on the side of caution.

You don't like it? I have a Wii U and sometimes I turn it on and play something when everyone in the house is watching something else.

Not at all. Actually hated it. The battery life was awful, the range was awful, the comfort was awful, the use of the screen was gimmicky.

I know, I know, I could buy a pro controller.
Why did that not just come with the system?

Exactly. I'm tired of saying just buy one. If it's that easy then just give me one in the box. I don't want to spend another $50 for one.

This is probably my biggest beef with Nintendo over the Wii and Wii U. Even more than the 3rd Party debacle.

The OS and app integration have been terrible for the most part. They oversimplify things way too much and are too focused on reimplementing Apple principles.

why are we assuming they're doing the same interface though? I agree, if they frick up the interface, it's a huge mistake since for all intents and purposes, this is a tablet...needs to be intuitive meaning...simple

Even the simple WiiU interface was painfully, infuriatingly slow.

I've seen no improvement with all of the updates and tweaks.

Man, I'm just not sure how many of these the Switch can do well.

Nintendo is porting PS4 games to the switch. This should give a clue about the specs at the very least.
