Looking at getting our son a switch this Christmas and was looking to see if they had any deals coming up. Saw the Mario Kart bundle that caught my interest.

While searching I found this article regarding two versions of the switch - one that had a lower battery life and a newer version with a longer battery life. Apparently the Mario Kart bundle has the version with the lesser battery life.

Just a FYI in case anyone else is switch shopping

I would recommend getting the normal switch model. It's a little more but you get the same portability with way more features.

Yeah I am looking at the normal switch model (not the lite). This was in reference to two different models of the normal switch. HAC-001 with a battery life of 2.5-6.5 hours and HAC-001(-1) with a battery life of 4.5 to 9 hours. The bundle looks to include the HAC-001 model.

Is the one with longer battery lacking features?

I think he may be confused and thinking of the switch lite.

I don't believe so. IIRC, there was a hardware refresh for the full-size Switch, and some of the bundle packages had the older hardware set with the lesser battery.

Well they are different. If you plan on using it as a handheld and nothing else, I would say get the lite.

I got the bundle with mk downloaded it and returned it for the one with better battery life. They took it back no questions asked and I got to keep mk because it's linked to my account
