If you complain enough and continue to ask for a manager, you'll usually get a free repair. Most companies afford the repair costs in order to keep a customer loyal. Example: My mother for some reason always liked HP's gear so growing up, I always got HP computers, parts, accessories. I bought a laptop and it had a ton of issues. They fixed it for free but didn't re-activate the OEM OS because I "should have made recovery disks" (which is true, but I didn't expect issues so soon). I bitched and bitched until they sent me a 40 dollar recovery DVD for free. This works with usually any hardware or software provider, as long as you didn't break it through tampering with it. If you Xbox is untouched outside of play, it can get fixed with enough complaining, I'm sure. Make sure to mention that you've "always been a loyal customer", but that now you feel betrayed and are exploring other options.
