Must play games for Nintendo DS?

My brother is getting a 3DS for Christmas. I want to barrow his DS for games like Fire Emblem and FFIV. I have already played FF tactics when I owned one before but that was the only game I owned before trading it in for the Last of Us.

I played the Pokemon up to the 3rd gen. Is it much different for 4 and 5?

Just picked up Fire Emblem and its awesome.
Link Between Worlds, Ocarina of Time and Pokemon Y were all great as well.

How similar is his taste to yours? There's around 30-40 JRPGs worth playing on DS.

Any type of game you're specifically looking for, my favorites are Radiant Historia, Professor Layton, Rhythm Fever, and Super Robot Taisen OG: Endless Frontier.

I think he mainly just plays pokemon. He owns every pokemon game besides the 3DS ones.

I'll just list DS games that are good.
Chrono Trigger, Advance Wars, Casltevania, Elite Beat Agents, Dragon Quest remakes, Devil Survivor, Phoenix Wright, Hotel Dusk, Lunar Knights, Okamiden, Bangai-O Spirits, Golden Sun, Infinite Space, Suikoden Tierkris.
There's more but that should give you several hundred hours of options.

There are a bunch of DS games that I still want to play, like Golden Sun, Suikoden Tierkreis, a couple of the DragonQuest games, along with some other stuff

Original DS, the mario 64 remake is worth it too
Virtual console also has some legit shite on it with the old gameboy zelda games
