Some dude wearing a Mass Effect jacket is going to show up with a gun and take that copy of the game - book it. People are desperate.

Okay Played the MP demo for about six hours last night. It's addicting as hell. I thought it might have just been tacked on but it's fully fleshed out with lots of customization options for every character. SPOILERS FOLLOW:
You only get your choice of two weapons on each character so choose wisely. The Credits you gain from the Missions are shared but not in just one pool. Each player in your party has the same amount of credits as everyone else and each player can spend that amount however they see fit.
The main issue I thought that multiplayer ME was going to have was difficulty curve. That fear has been laid to rest. Even with three experienced ME players it was difficult on the Bronze level. The AI is vastly improved in it's tactics against you. No longer content to stop and pop and wait until it kills you, it sends sheilded enemies to soften you up whilst a sniper picks your health apart from afar. Forcing you to constantly rethink your strategies makes the action really intense.
There is only two levels and one enemy type(Cereberus) available for the demo but even then I never really got bored. In fact I've been thinking about playing all day. I know this was long winded and thanks to everyone who ends up reading all of this. If any of you guys wants to make a full party on Xbox Live I'll be on tonight.

Spot on.
I played MP for three hours last night and time flew by. It was really tough (for me), but I hope it gets easier as I level up and get more comfortable with it.
My main problem was trying bring up the selection wheel to change weapons, but it's not part of MP.
