madden 2011 wii

ok people, i'm not much of the gaming person anymore and i could some help.
I got my son the madden 11 for his wii and i'm having trouble starting a season for him that will save and continue. I thought it would be under the franchise mode but each time we start that, play a few weeks, save and exit, when we come back it starts over. I do have a profile saved for him.
I don't play games much anymore, and obviously this is kicking my butt.
any help would be appreciated.

bump - for the only other person out there who may have madden '11 for wii.

A friend of mine has Madden 10 on wii but it seems like what you are doing is right. Just make sure it has saved. I have an xbox and their is a quick save button but idk if it has that on the wii. Idk what else to tell you.
