How good are you at Madden?

If not very, I'd keep that 1st and Hooker. Drafts are juiced this year (they are every year until they patch it a few months later). It's likely you'll be able to draft a 78 ovr player in the top half of the 1st round. Hooker is an excellent safety to develop.

If you intend on competing right away, I suppose it's not a bad trade. The Colts could use all the help they can get tho tbh. I'd try to deal Vontae Davis and get back another young player to build towards year 2 and so forth.

I'm decent but I'm not one of these joystick masters. To the extent I'm good at madden is mostly owed to the fact i've been playing football games for so long.

Honestly trading Hooker bothers me less than Moncrief as there's no FA receiver i can plug in, but he seems to want 2 players plus my #1 this year which just seems like too much.

Same as last year. I quit buying NCAA Football because of this. That and I didn't see why I need two football games. This might be the last time I buy Madden. I've bought it every year. I'm not sure how "frostbite" makes a difference. Truly the only upgrade is graphics.

WRs are easy to find, both drafting and picking up off the street to develop. Much of the passing game is dependent on your user ability to call plays to get them open. CB/DB on the other hand is harder to get and to upgrade. They develop by being at the right place at the right time (Interceptions, Fumbles). A high 70 rookie safety is nothing to scoff at. There's usually a handful of good ones per draft here and a bunch of shitty ones. WR you can find in any round depending on again your user ability. With TY Hilton and Dorsett, you really don't need that 3rd WR.

This year I feel like there's a lot of good WRs. Even the scrubs like Noah Brown (Cowboys 60 something rookie WR) has 80 everything but Route Run, which is insanely easy to upgrade depending on your league's XP sliders.

I like this year's game. The players have weight to them, they don't race back and forth on defense and offense. QB scramble cheese isn't as bad as I was expecting. The run game is a bit OP IMO but that's also due to zones being non functional. The game looks and plays better. Less of the game is decided by BS animations. I remember M16 if a defender was within five yards of the WR while the ball was in air, it triggered a catch animation. Shittiest Madden of all time. M18 works on what M17 did right and made it better from there.

Some complaints:
Yellow zones don't work. The flats don't have awareness of what's happening either. My opponent will dump the ball off into a flat and my defender sitting on it will watch the ball whizz by THEN after the receiver catches it, he does a stupid bat down animation, allowing the receiver to run freely. There's supposed to be an patch addressing zones sometime soon.

ETA: I've done some CFM with a buddy using custom sliders and it plays infinitely better. I'm really excited to start my 32 man league Friday.

Do you have any room in the 32 man league?

Nah they just got some weight to them now. You can't run 50 mph back and forth with your MLB

That's one thing they did right. But they can still out jump LeBron.

And no ability to user catch? Was that a change last year or this year?

Also, the jukes are really slow

I haven't had any crazy 50" vert interceptions yet this madden.

You can user catch.

All rushing moves are OP AF this year. You're not tackling a RB in open field rn unless the user is a bum and misses his juke/spin.

I thought about that but I think I want the updated rosters, the new stadium in ATL, and the lighting engine every review has talked about

It isn’t the same game. The engine runs much smoother on this one.

Yeah it’s a consistent 60 FPS. The player modules are much better too.

I just can't decide whether or not to get this game or not

I've read all there is too read and still can't decide, I just don't know how long I can play it without getting bored of it

I only play franchise mode which I do enjoy but the last one I had was madden 15 which I liked but I didn't enjoy near as much as some earlier editions from around 05-10

I bought it at target for 39.99 and will play it tonight. Pretty excited. Haven't owned a Madden since the first one that came out on PS4

I mean if you want to know how great it is, it is a really fun game, probably the best one game play wise in 10 years or more. Franchise mode is about as in depth as it’s ever been, it’s lacking like a weekly show or real story line mode etc, but it’s a great game overall. You won’t be disappointed if you get it
