Madden 17: Online vs offline franchise

So for about 2 hours I've been trying to play my first season game and both times the network went down either due to my unreliable Internet or shitty ea servers. I'm simply trying to play a franchise. I don't care about online leagues or any of that. So should i just go offline with my season? Just wondering if I may lose anything like updates or anything by playing my franchise offline.

In Madden 16, you wouldn't get the benefit of updates in offline mode. I don't know if this is true for '17 though.

Partially true. The offline mode got tweaks done to some of the coaching skills you'd buy for your coach. Iirc a few didn't work at all like the Weekly XP boost. It got updates. It just never got any additions.
