Who did these in the past, and who still does them now?
Got one going on this weekend with a dozen of my closest friends playing games from the late 90's up to current day...a cool keg and pizza will keep this going Friday through Sunday...cheers to the life gamers

We would have Halo LAN parties all the time back in high school. Freaking blast.

Back in 1999 and 2000, the wife and I were the only one of our friends that had a house so we would host a Everquest Lan Party. We would stay up all night grinding exp and camping mobs.

Went to a DOTA LAN party a few weeks ago. Holy shite that game is unplayable

There are people that still do them, more than you think. I see people searching for LAN games on anantech a lot.

I wanted to open a gaming business that was lan oriented at one time

All those I went to closed within 5 years, not close to being viable yet down here. If you are talking about a more population dense area maybe...

Yea that what I was thinking also. Most that I saw on the internet were like in large metros.

Aint no party like a LAN party ya'll! It makes the victory shots alot more fun. I find it also leads to shite play as I tend to get drunker / care less.

There was a place called gamelan that did this is br. It lasted a while but was always a struggle. I had fun going in middle school though.

Actually NOLA/Metairie has an awesome LAN center called Dibbs...it's right next to a daquiri shop and is one of the only survivor's I've seen through the collapse of the business.
We went through a bunch of games this weekend and I had some shite to wade through setting up a dedicated CS:Source server in a linux VM to get gungame going, but...finally got it all configured across multiple subnets
