Just finished Dragon Age Origins

I have to admit, it took me a while to get into this game but once I did...wow am I glad I stuck with it. Although the design was fairly closed-in with not much of a sandbox element to it, the characters, music and overall theme were incredible. I just ordered Dragon Age 2 on amazon (used, disk only for about $5) although I've heard it's not nearly as good as Origins. How disappointing is it?

Um, it's really different from Origins. I was rather put off by the design decisions for 2 but it's not unplayable.

I never ended up playing 2. I had heard it was bad, so I just didn't get around to it.
Origins had some great characters though. Morrigan for the win.

I need to dive back in to origins. I only put about 8 hours into it and got distracted.

Pisses me off, I got to the end of that game and it would freeze every time I would get that last dragon down to half health. Did it 3 times in a row and I never picked it back up

Origins is one of my favorite games ever.
Dragon Age 2 is a decent game that gets hated on because it was not as good. Like a sequel to a movie. With that said I could not finish 2.
Part 3 looks to be amazing though. Can't wait.

I am in the minority I loved Origins but I also liked 2. They don't play the same but I enjoyed both.

The game is easy to corrupt your files at the end.
There isn't enough gold to get everything you want, so I always chose the royal dwarf for the gold bonus selling to his pal.
Problem is, if you sell every item to the same person,the game crashes. I had all 4 backups corrupt from this flaw on my second play through.
I loved Origins but it was clear 2 was a money grab since it came out so soon after Origins. After reviews, I never gave it a shot.

Loved the story and overall gameplay of Origins more than 2. However, the graphics are better in 2 and some say that the combat system is better.

That depends on your taste. I prefer the more strategic style of Origins

DA:O was great. I still love that game. In comparison, and considering the expectations, DA2 was both rushed and a very repetitive game. That's not to say it was the terrible game it is made out to be. I still played it a couple of times, and enjoyed it.
