re: Is Starfield going to play like Skyrim in space?

I think there is confusion mostly here when I use the term massive failure in reference to xbox studios and Microsoft games as whole dating as far back as the launch of xbox 1. In practical business terms they are absolutely in no way a failure they have more money than Sony could ever hope to scrooge mcduck themselves into.

What I refer to is their uncanny ability to tank their own 1st party games they had in house before they started buying up anyone who would be ok with tanking their games and filling them full of pedo caches to drive up sale value. Their complete inability to understand gamepass just is not viable on its on enough to carry the console beyond where it currently languishes which on the consumer market opinion wise is more or less the gutter. I say they dont understand but I do actually think they do hence the acquisitions of many of these studios they realize that if they can put out 2-3 games a year like Sony has been since the ps4 that are high interest high budget titles which are the things that actually sell consoles. The continued ineptitude seems to be when acquiring these studios they dont even check out the shite theyre working on, or even worse they dont and greenlit it anyway. See Redfall.

I mean it is an accurate name for them but see the post above about sardonic humor. Are you denying these companies when they are entertaining a big sale always without fail see a shift in game dev philosophy away from whatever they brought before in quality to maximizing money made by microtransactions, thereby driving up company value, thereby selling for more?

Again you focused on a joke I made that you for some reason didnt like, Which is fine. However, didnt mention anything about companies committing game quality suicide to get the highest cash out possible. In this way microsoft isnt to blame completely for some of this because they inherit studios that were burnt down as the previous owners walked out the back with their bag,

In fairness the only ones who really went full bore into pedo caches quite literally were EA. It is just a catchy name for loot boxes. You dont have to take it so seriously

Skyrim was insane, for me it was the successor to GTA: San Andreas and GTA V. The massive world, the depth of story-telling, the graphics, the immersion factor... they were all there.

Starfield looks to expand on at least the massive world and add to the immersion (space ship builds, space fights, procedural encounters, over a thousand WORLDS to explore, etc), all with a jump in graphics.

I'll be buying this one and likely wasting tons of time on it. Honestly, I'm glad it isn't coming out until the Fall because I would end up wasting our annual family summer trip by spending all my time in the condo playing it.
