I am PC + Switch these days. But as more and more indie titles come to Switch I am becoming more Switch than PC.

Hell, proof of how dead this year has been is the lack of action on this board. Sometimes takes a few days for a dead thread to hit the 2nd page.

RPGs are not what they used to be - not that they're bad, but the days of the old school versions of Dragon Age, etc... probably gone.

DA:O's mechanic of having a different origin story based on class and race? I think that's the last time that has happened that I can recall.

I will say this though - if you like Dragon Age, get Witcher 3. It's been out for a bit, so you can get all the expansions usually on a pretty good sale.

Played it twice through, 100% the first time.

It just seem that games that had proven methods decided to change to something "better" but not so much, I hoped for months that they woundn't mess up Ghost Recon and Mass Effect but alas they did.

GR was a true disappointment "do it your way, go loud or stealth", yet half way through the game you had to you stealth to complete most of the mission.

ME just didn't feel the connection with the game, In 1-3 I wanted to keep playing until the end, but in 4 I got bored.

I am so scared that the next Metro is going to follow this path of disappointment.

This has been a pretty solid year in gaming, but, yeah most of the year's best games have been console exclusives

Pretty much, if you game on a Switch and PC, you're set for life. Reason being is unless Nintendo goes to a developer only company, their games are staying on their consoles and will be exclusive for forever. PC IS Microsoft so almost all their shite will be on there. Steam gets a good bit of PlayStation exclusives, at least later on, like Nier: Automata and Secret of Mana.

That's just the way I look at it.

Are you going to be playing Divinity Original Sin 2?

This is a pretty strong recommendation to make. I'm enjoying it when playing with friends. It's pretty much a well crafted D&D.

If I hadn't already played them multiple times I would still enjoy old games like ME 1-3, Metro, Dragon Age, and Pillars. Either games have changed or I have.

Assuming you've already played it since you are a big fan of Pillars, but did you give Tyranny a try? I just finally got around to playing it when it went on sale and the expansion came out for it a week and a half ago, and it's pretty enjoyable.

The MGS 5 gameplay is awesome. Its by far my favorite stealth action game. The side missions are extremely repetative and the story is not great and obviously the game is not really finished but the 35 or so main missions are good. Im still savoring the final few extra missions after I finished the main campaign against skull face. I dont play it all the time but every few weeks I love to dive back in try to S rank an earlier missions.

I dont have as much time as I used to to play games so I would not say Im bored but Im a bit worn out on games that require a long investment of time. This past year I really have been enjoying the shorter indie games like Inside,Soma,Limbo,Strider,The Sexy Brutale, and Observer.I know some of these games have been out a while but Im just getting around to playing them.

This has been a terrible year so far for gaming if you don't like first person shooters, which I don't.

Sony-published titles never go on PC. If you went just PC/Switch you'd be losing out on Bloodborne, Horizon, TLoU, Uncharted, God of War, etc. Sony's been pretty prolific this gen.

Same here. I feel like I make myself play games sometimes. I only play CS and L4D2 nowadays. Laid off CS for a long time, been tough getting my skills back up, but nowhere where I used to be. I'm really old too though.
