I have never completed a Zelda Game. Should I play OOT first?

I have only played one Zelda game, and it was WW HD on my WiiU. The console broke half way through, so I lost my data and never restarted. I enjoyed it, but have always heard OOT is the greatest Zelda title.
Now that most of the Zelda games are available in the Nintendo store, should I just go ahead and play OOT? Do I really need to play the previous titles?

I would at least play A Link to the Past. I think OoT could be a little tough if you don't know the tropes. Plus, ALttP is the best Zelda not named OoT.
(For reference, Wind Waker, to me, is a Top 3 Zelda behind the two above. I think it's an excellent representation of the series.)

Ocarina of Time is a total gem. However, and I know I'm in a huge minority here, but I personally prefer Majora's Mask to them all. Such a different game with a depression everywhere.
If you dive into the series be sure to pick that one up as well.

The original is too hard and requires way too much trial and error.

OoT was the first Zelda game I ever played. Play it first. You won't regret it. It's not too hard to get the hang of.
