I have never played Halo. I might buy the collection when it is cheap for my roommate's xbone.

yes the game works so much better, still a few small things like file share and some forge options but other than that's its great
they choked on the release of MCC(they were probably forced to rush it in time) but I really enjoyed the beta, a lot. I was skeptically of all the new stuff but it was a ton of fun. Plus the campaign looks interesting so ill be a day one downloader

Theory, could they possibly be trying something as bold/stupid as making a divergent storyline where you play as Locke or MC and only one can survive depending on who you play as?

I would not go with this statement. Bungie of now does not seem to be the Bungie of old. Halo and before that the Marathon series sucked you in. While Destiny was a fun game, it did not have the same feeling as their previous FPS series.

As someone who has no care for Halo's multiplayer I thought MCC was wonderful

I'll wait until 11/3/15 and see if it's working before I buy it, and even then I'll probably wait to buy it used. MCC was such a huge letdown that I'm not quite ready to trust 343 for a successful Halo 5 launch.
