Some one needs to go back and look at MW2,WAW,BO1,etc and create a good FPS. Activision has lost their ways, and EA has always touted their fps and put out mediocre games.
FPS genre has lost its way.

How so? They had one big new announcement today and that was Halo Wars 2 (looks good, but will not be a huge game)? Unless you actually believe that DVR will be a widely used feature.

Because similar things have been done before on other consoles. DVR existed on PS3 in both Europe and Japan, and it wasn't really used and that's why we don't have it with PS4 (as they opted for cloud service that likely also won't get widely used).
As for Gamescom, I thought they had a good conference. MS has been very solid, steady, and safe with their pressers. They didn't have any megaton announcements, but they show off several games with good footage.

DVR will be used but I agree that this wasn't that big. A lot of Halo, Gears, Forza which is what Microsoft always has. Scalebound looks cool but QB has been delayed to hell and Crackdown didn't look so hot in my opinion. Was really just E3 all over again. I know there are others that care about it but this whole BC/remaster stuff doesn't do it for me and Microsoft is playing that card hard.

I could see it being big here. I don't want to pay for DVR but if I can get in with a console then it just makes sense for me.

This DVR feature isn't what you think it is.
Backwards compatibility is great and all, But it is not something that will change the landscape of console sales much.

Bummer if true.
I don't think Backwards Compatibility sells that much either but I still think it improves the console. There is a reason I have kept my fat PS3.
