Game of Thrones video game on Skyrim level

Because Game of Thrones isn't anything like Skyrim whatsoever aside from the fact that both take place in a medieval fantasy world.

GoT is about gritty combat with overt mystical elements (aside from dragons). Skyrim is hack'n'slash with characters shooting lightning out their hands. Plus it'd require multiple character perspectives to get the story across with Skyrim does not do.

Witcher 3 is probably the closest you can get to Game of Thrones the game (not counting the Telltale "game") aside from the monster hunting stuff.

Play the Mount and Blade: Warband mod Clash of Kings.

That's an excellent idea.
In reference to Skyrim: Skyrim and the Elder Scrolls in general is about your character possessing that one super rare trait that makes them a sort of demi-god, special picked to perform this one task and save all of existence. The narrative of GOT doesn't fit. Who would we play, Jon Snow? We don't know who's going to be the savior yet.

GoT would need to be a combination of RPG and RTS game, moving between the mico level of a single character to the macro level of strategic, Risk-like army manuevering.
Some kind of Heroes of Might and Magic or something.
Or they could release little modules that cover specific plots. Game of Thrones: the Night's Watch or Game of Thrones: King's Landing

The best GoT experience in video games right now is the Crusader Kings 2 GoT mod.

Skyrim is still, by far, the most fun I've had out of a single player video game. It barely edged out OoT and Link to the Past.
