After getting through a lot of the 2nd disc of LA Noire, I have to say, this is probably one of the best games I have ever played. If not for the detail alone in every little thing, the storylines are awesome. I love how you feel like you're in a murder mystery movie. Everything feels very authentic from the building to the music to the clothes. And not to the mention the faces of everyone, it blows my mind everytime I talk to someone.
I would have to say LA Noire has to be the frontrunner.
In second I'd probably have to go with Arkham Asylum. (I don't remember if this game came out within the last year or later.)I got this game simply from liking Batman back in the day. However, I was very pleasantly surprised at some of the great detail on this game as well. Storyline was good and the action was top notch. Really looking forward to Arkham City.

Haven't played much of it yet. Looking forward to getting into it.

Other than Noire, I would think BF3, Arkham City, and Portal 2 would be top candidates for GOTY. I'm sure MW3 will get put in there, regardless of how good it is, based on the fact that it will probably top all the sales records like any COD game does.

I'm only on my real first detective case, but i can see this as having potential as well. Also, maybe not the best stroyline, or whatnot, but Portal 2 was an absolute blast. Add in free DLC, and I think it's up there as well.

GT was also a great game.

Ya'll are just gonna make me get this game.

Think I'll hold off and finish RDR first. And maybe a couple others I have too.

Haven't played in a while. But, the patches on PS3 really, really helped connectivity. I like it and I'll probably play it if I run solo.

Arkham Asylum didn't come out whithin the last year, but it was an exceptional game. Looking forward to Arkahm City.

Also, how graphic is L.A. Noire? My son and I play video games a lot but I heard the game probably isn't age appropriate for the kid

Rated M for nudity, violence, language, and probably an assortment of other things.

Don't be this guy.

not recently i dont think

and from my experience the only time it would split up the party is when you join a match in progress and there isn't enough room for everyone on the same team. back in the lobby it puts everyone back on the same team for the next match

Deffinately not a game to play with kids as stated before. Lot of profanity, nude corpses, also lots of drug stuff.
