Koji Igarashi launched a kickstarter today for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. He's known for the Castlevania series, most notably Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

It's a 2.5D successor to the Castlevania series for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. LINK

after PoE I'm never doing another kickstarter. those images look like an arcade game from the early 00s.

I was just coming here to post this. I am really excited for it. I hope they release physical copies.

I think that's the point. If they retail it at ~$20, like these other throwback games, I would buy.

Looking at the page, you get a special edition physical copy for a $60 pledge. Digital copy for $28.

I'm tempted to pledge since they've surpassed their goal and it looks well into development....

Dang, I thought Pillars of Eternity is a good example of why you should kickstart. Game took a while, but they got a lot of feedback from fans and the game was well received.

Did you not like it?

I feel like I spent $45 for balders gate with a dif story line and its more difficult to play. like when i played BGII i would only really have to pause and plan on big fights like vs dragons. PoE its every GD fight. i hate how 1 random guard will kill 2 of my guys in heavy armor while my 5 guys take a combined 15 hits to drop 1 person. idk im probably just way too picky but i just feel like they made it way more complex than it needs to be. BG wasnt fun because of the challenge it was fun because there was so much to do. this just feels way more complex than what it needs to be. I still play 2-3 times a week or so but i never last more than an hour before i get pissed off at something.

ETA:: i think my F5 key may need replacing soon from all the quicksaving that's required.

Geez. I paid $20 for the kickstarter tier I choose. I feel that's the right price for it.

This is what happens when famous creators are asked to retire or fired from their parent company. Whatever Kojima puts on kickstarter will certainly break any records.

I don't know if there is enough money on kickstarter to fund his productions

Same here, it had some frustrations at first but a much better release than anything Ubisoft puts out. I was very happy with it when I was done.

I spent some time thinking on what creators could pull in if they went to kickstart. Kojima and Miyamoto are the top two that I can think of.
