Finally finished Death Stranding

I went in thinking it was going to be the greatest game I’ve ever played. It was not. But it was pretty fun at times. VERY repetitive gameplay and the story is pretty hard to keep up with. (Particularly the ending) I found myself many times saying wtf is going on? I finished it a little over 102 hours. Obviously I thought the story was too long. I’d say I’d give it a solid C+ maybe a B-
Now it’s time to finish Days Gone and then start Jedi Fallen Order. I can’t wait play that shite.

I was holding out some hope that Kojima breaking out on his own would help him “repair” some of his less-than-stellar trends when it comes to directing/producing games. It hasn’t.
Time to face it: he hasn’t made a truly good game since 2004. Every game since has had significantly questionable and polarizing direction & content. He’s the video game equivalent of tossing paint on a big white canvas and calling it “art”.
I legit had more actual fun playing Metal Gear Survive than Death Stranding. That’s not praise for either game, BTW. Enjoy Days Gone. Way better game.

Yea I actually stopped playing Days Gone about halfway through and started DS. I think the main negative for me was just the repetition. There were only a few cool moments where I actually had fun that stick out in my head.

It’s one of my favorite games on PS4 but you have to be into that type of game.

Yea it is good. Your bike is like your companion through the story. You can upgrade it and shite. It’s pretty cool.

It’s like horizon zero dawn where you have a large open world and interesting combat tropes- in this case, you better get your aim down or you will blow through ammo and get overrun. The story definitely picks up despite the beginning being slower. The upgradable motorcycle also introduces a faster means to traversing the map even though you can still fast travel. Also zombies vs robot dinosaurs

It starts off slowwwww. Once you level up a bit and get better guns it picks up. Killing the big hordes is a lot of fun.

I would hold off if you're going to base it on that comp. I played the crap out of Horizon, and from what I've read and seen on Death Stranding...........yeah, I don't get that comparison. Two totally different games.
