Like with techniques; you'd go to a character's individual "gear" screen and change it

Okay, I'll try this. Like I bought that one bro's regroup technique but haven't figured out how to equip it.

Ignis is the one who has it. Have to choose his gear screen I think it is or one of the menu options to equip it. Don't remember.

I wouldn't be opposed to a collection of the remastered nes and snes games either.

I know square enix is all about milking this series piecemeal, but I just want easy access to all my favorite old school RPGs.

No they don't need repair.. perhaps you're seeing your mp bar drain? Are you using a lot of warp strikes?

Got to the deadeye fight and that's why I hate JRPGs. Getting killed in 2 to 3 hits. Supposed to target the barrels with a fire spell but the game has taught me frick all about using magic. When I can use it, I rarely hit the barrels for the tiny area of effect.

Also noticed that just like FF13, when the character you control goes down, it's game over regardless of who else is still fighting.

I couldn't hit the barrels either.. I just fought it out. I just recently started dabbling with magic. It's still very minimal in my repitoire but I use it on occasion now; but for most of my game, I haven't. Even now it's unweildy to control I have upgraded a couple things on the magic skill tree now though and gotten a little more exploratory with my elemancy and mixing it with other items to come up with some cool combos for spell casting.

I agree though; I pretty much figured out most of it by myself, the game doesn't give you much in the way of really learning how to craft, use, and control spells.

Sidenote: the dead eye side quest might be my favorite one in the game so far.. I was just really into it

i was around 10 at the start of chapter two and am now level 46 in chapter 3. I keep telling myself to go on with the story but the quest and hunts seem never ending.

Jesus lol.

Okay, I'm at lvl like 17-18 now and I'm still on chapter 2. Have only done the mission where I get the royal weapons or whatever. Still feel like there is a good deal of actual main story before I progress, but who knows.

Also, apparently I've been doing combat all wrong by continually tapping 'O' on my controller instead of just holding it down lol.

Yeah and make sure you hold down square also for block instead of tapping it also.

I slowed down last night and started doing side quests. IF you want Gil fast don't sell your treasures, they can be used to upgrade weapons later.

Find the side that looks like Hurley from lost and do his photo quests. His name is Vyv and he is down the steps right when you park at Lestallum.

I want to say to that while I love the old FF soundtracks, something of the best themes are left out line the Turks theme and Shadow's

Correct. Hold it down, and then use the left stick forwards and backwards to use different attacks. Greatsword with LS up + O is OP.

I'm now in Chapter 5, lvl 35. ~15 hours in. I stopped doing some of the sidequests to make more story progression.

Keep in mind to all, you will get occasionally trapped in story progression. If you're a completionist, make sure to be thorough.

You will also be able to go back after the game is beaten to finish everything.

Also after you get locked in to the story you can still "time travel" and go back to the open world any time
