Well I'm pretty certain that this is correct, but a video I watched earlier cast a bit of doubt on my suspicions.
Guy claims that in the Japanese version of this trailer video, Sephiroth's voice at the end clearly says, "You know I killed Tifa. So who is she?"
He might be full of shite and I cannot speak Japanese so I can neither deny or confirm his statement. I still think it's a head fake, and maybe a lot of these vloggers out there are just throwing out intentional smokescreens.

This is what I've thought. At first I was leaning towards something like the Matrix or the Dark Tower series where these events are cyclical and will always repeat itself until the ideal outcome is achieved. Leaning towards alternate timelines now though, with this one taking place in a timeline where OG Sephiroth (and possibly Aerith) managed to enter/influence.

I'm thinking audio from another scene spliced to this one as a method to throw the audience off. TV shows do it all the time with teasers for the next episode.

I was hyped about 16. Then I saw the dungeon trailer and was like, nah.
I went from no hype from ff7 rebirth and now have hype.
Even tho rebirth has a good 2 years away from pc. It reminds me that I have to finish remake.

Have you played the 16 demo? You get to play through the whole dungeon with Cid and Clive that they showed off in the trailer ending with you fighting Benedicta. That ign cut up was awful. I found plenty of places off the path with chest mini bosses etc and this was without a minimap(whole game is without one I think) in a fairly small castle. You should try it I mean it cost nothing.

Honestly Tiger I don’t think it would have to be too far. The way the line reads it sounds to me like he is describing to the party what the clones are. I mean he would know all of this and much more. That’s the issue with choosing how and when to bring him into this and how much you bring chaos into. If you bring chaos fully into it he’s arguably like one of top 5 most important and powerful beings in this story. But they did establish deep ground with Yuffie
Also some biggernyoutuber pointed this out I’ll try to find it during a scene where they show combat you can clearly Aerith on the edge of the combat arena standing around even though she isn’t in the lineup. Could this be a ff10 tag team style? Only thing there is all characters would need materia layouts all times. Another isncould the sideline characters but the ones used for team attacks

The theories about multiple time lines have many many flaws. There is one singlar timeline and when we killed the whispers or "destiny" at the end of remake it altered and changed things colliding them into one. We more or less crossed into an alternate dimension to fight that massive whisper collection on the highway and i wouldnt be surprised if the opening showing our party dead was just trailer footage. Zach was saved from death by us killing destiny before he could be killed. This is in line with the end of integrade when he goes into the church and people are mourning thinking aerith is dead. Zach is very much alive and will be playable either joining our party or doing his own separate goal but most likely still aligned with us. I would be shocked if we were put at odds with him. The cloud he carries into midgar could also open up the opportunity for a "dark cloud" sort of like dark link in zelda opening up some cool story angles and awesome boss moments.

I could be completely wrong about this but I think one of the bigger Ff and square YouTube channels clarified it’s a two disk scenario in the same way red dead 2 was.
One is simply an install disc, that’s not to say it can’t be huge on one disc if that disc doesn’t carry any instal baggage just clarifying to temper expectations
