Final Fantasy is 25 buck on Xbox live right now. Is it worth buying?

Looking for a solid Single player game to pass the time with all the flooding down here.
I played FF 6 and 7 years ago and really enjoyed them but haven't played another FF since. It seems gamers are pretty divided about the game. What say the GB? Is it worth 25 bones?

I say yes, especially for that price. I got it at launch and aside from one chapter of the game which they supposedly patched later on, I had a blast with it.

The game is an absolute mess from a plot standpoint. I never felt connected to the world or characters.
If you want to run around a decent looking world and mash x to bash monsters for a while, then go for it.

I know this is just my opinion, but I disagree. I thought the story was solid and at the end I about cried lol.

The ending wasn't bad, but I still felt disconnected from the plot mostly. I also didn't appreciate how they cut out portions of the plot to sell as dlc later.
I'll wait til all the plot dlcs come out and try it one more time to see if my opinion changes.

I bought it at launch, did some goofy quests for the gas station lady, and never played it again

I think it's very much worth $25. Lots of content for that price and I think you'll have fun with it.

Yeah, not sure how this narrative has stuck around. They only did these episode DLCs because the #1 fan requested add-on was to be able to play as the other characters. So then they decided to make DLC so that you could do so.

Several aspects of the story have zero impact with the portions of the story excised for resale later.
A certain event regarding ignis comes to mind.
"Oh cool, I don't get to see what happened? frick you, square Enix". - my thoughts whenever you get to that point in the base game.
