N64 Smash Brothers. About 4 years ago in college, my brother stopped talking to me for a week after I figured out how to troll with yoshi.

Yea, Super Smash Bros for sure was the most fun. I lived in a 6 person townhouse in college. The second a 4th roommate would walk in the door, everyone would yell "FAMILY TIME!" Everyone would grab a beer and rush to the living room. When we had 5 or 6, the roommate with the lowest score would have to give up their controller. And of course, we would give the guy jumping in the worst of the four controllers.

Back in my younger days I used to write for ANTagonist Games Network (now, sadly, long defunct). This was right around the time Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear was released, and the guys in the office and I made a team called "Reading Rainbow 6" and played online almost every night against regular readers of the site. Good times.

Same here, but it might have been 88. I never owned the game though.

Best jet force Gemini. I think that took longer for me to beat than any other game I've ever had.

Defeating Lavos's final form in Chrono Trigger.

I remember I used to rent that game in high school and I could never beat it in one weekend even though I was pretty much glued to the TV.

I couldn't find the game for sale anywhere at the time

One of the best RPGs from that era

Sunday night, 16 years old, got paid from mc donalds, took check to game exchange, dude there told me i had to buy this game called metal gear solid it would change my life. never herd of it but was like frick it lol sure why not.

got home, put it in. psycho mantis moving my joystick and telling me what games i had played. literally had no idea what to think.

i think i missed like 5 days of school my entire schooling career from 1st grade to 12th grade.2 of those days was pretending i was driving to school then coming home to play metal gear solid when my mom left for work. And one of those days was spent figuring out how the frick to hit physco mantis.

i was ready to give up and exchange the game and i called the biggest nerd in our school david hsu and asked him dude have you played this game what the frick dude. dude told me to plug the controller into the other port. i was like you got to be fricking kidding me

I honestly feel bad for people who have never played the original MGS.

other notable memories

being 21 having my own crib and playing twisted metal black drunk every night with my 2 best friends

Being piss drunk playing metal gear solid 3 snake eater and eating wingstop and wondering where the frick all my french fries were going. i'm like okay i'm drunk but i' not this drunk. there are o fries, but i'm still hungry. something isn't adding up lol. My dog Rico was eating them on the sly when i was playing. i had this big arse basket of fries and i think i ate like 3 fries lol

oh and general choas. i don't know how no one has ever played this game it's the best 2 player game of all time. you get a hand gun, a missile launcher and a machine gun and get to station 5 dudes around this little arse screen to kill each other.

tell me this isn't the best shite ever

Sleepovers at my friends house and all we'd play was Goldeneye and NFL Blitz on N64.
