Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen?

I've been going back and forth trying to decide which I want to purchase. Right now Elite Dangerous is the only one that has been fully released but Star Citizen is still available to purchase and play early. They're just gradually putting out updates for the game.
Anyone have any experience playing either of these?

star citizen looks more fun but planetary landing is being implemented into elite dangerous pretty soon.

I mean, considering one game is already available and the other likely to release some time around 2020 at the earliest, go with Elite.

If you're going to have to teach yourself to play, and aren't familiar with space sims, I'd STF away from ED. You're looking at hours of lessons just to teach yourself how to transport goods for hours on end. Its space trucker simulator 3015. More like a work simulator. plus ED already planning an expantion you're going to have to pay for, on top of the $60 you pay for the game, vs the $45 you can back SC with and get more content, you just have to wait :)

I've been playing Star Citizen a bit and you can just tell it's going to be a fricking epic game when it's completed.
