That is a lot of $$$$$$$$, The largest stretch goal is 15 mill. I can't remember but the money is raised through the Compendium they have for every huge tournament. I don't know what % for sure of income from the compendiums go towards the prize pool, just know it is less than 50%. The rest goes to Gaben.

Basically the winning team of the tournament will get half the prize pool and the other half is split between teams 2nd-8th(I think 8th, amy be higher) scaling down of course.
They expect the prize pool to be over 15 million.

It means my parents telling me that "you can't make a living playing video games" my entire early life cost me millions.

Thanks Mom and Dad

The prize pool grows with 25% of purchases from the Compendium, additional purchased levels, and other related Ti5 chests. These each give players sets or other cosmetics for Dota 2 games. The most recent stretch goal was for desert terrain, something expected to be unavailable on the current Source engine. This is leading into Source 2, with strings already being found within Dota 2.

Also, here are the breakdown of the prize pool payouts from Ti4.
quote:

Total Prize Amount $10,296,180
1st - $4,736,243 (46%)
2nd - $1,389,984 (13%)
3rd - $978,137 (9%)
4th - $772,214 (7%)
5/6th - $617,771 (6%)
7/8th - $489,069 (5%)
9/10th - $46,333 (0.4%)
11/12th - $36,037 (0.3%)
13/14th - $20,592 (0.2%)

So nearly every team invited to Ti5 will get some money.

12 mil and counting as of 0730. The regional qualifiers were awesome.

First time that a previous winner of The International - Alliance TI3 - hasnt made the cut to go back to Seattle. Every other previous winning team - NaVi, IG, and VG are all in attendance. EG and Secret are the favorites as of now IMO. Still 2 months to go before the big show.

Team secret might as well be last year's all star team. They just pup stomp people.

There is almost no way they don't win it all.

They've only won a single major LAN since forming though, still can under preform. I think VG has the best shot at winning Ti5.

I really hope Na'vi can make some noise. They have really fallen off, even though Dendi is still one of the best mids in the world.

Na'vi still depends so much on how crazy Xboct is playing that day. If he doesn't over extend or at least gets saved by Sonneiko all the time like the qualifiers, they can probably manage a decent showing. I don't expect more than 6th place from them though. They have the experience to go way higher, but have been way too shaky this year to be reliable for me.

They definitely are always fun to watch though and entertaining to watch the Twitch chat and Dota fans split between the Dendi lovers and haters.
