I'm not much of a Multiplayer gamer so I was curious if anyone had any thoughts on the doom single player missions. Is it worth the money/download?

It has the best single player campaign in years. It's my goty so far, and I typically hate first person shooters.

it kicked arse. wears out its welcome towards the end and the hell levels got a little stale, but it was really fun. you really feel like the ultimate badass once you get all the mods and learn how to switch weapons for different situations

People are speaking really highly of the campaign. Its tough for me to purchase it right now with UC4, TMNT, W3:B&W, FO4:Far Harbor and just a month out No Man's Sky.

This will be a great game to fill in a spot in those August/September months.

The last two missions were especially tedious to me. The last level in particular sucks. Go here, fight wave of enemies, go here, fight wave of enemies, go here fight wave of enemies, go here, fight boss. Game over.

It's enjoyable and different.

But I play video games a lot of times for escapism and story and emotion. And I haven't listened to even a line of dialogue. Listening to podcasts and music and relaxing

It is very much worth a redbox rental for single player. It took me a bit to get into it but once I got into the rhythm and Style of it, I was hooked.

It's just badass to walk into a room, heavy metal music starts blaring and demons start teleporting in from all directions.

The single player is one of the best in a long time.

Snapmap gives it a little more longevity depending on how creative you are.

It's surprisingly replayable, especially if you want to get all the secrets and weapon / armor upgrades. Multiplayer isn't anything special but it's fun. I hope they add some single player content in coming DLCs, which I imagine they will given the reception.

Unless you are a FPS lover I wouldn't buy this until it's below $20, I suck at them and had to enable GOD mode about 2/3 of the way through. The secrets are very well hidden (good thing) but this game is mostly about having enough ammo and finding enough health and armor pickups to outlast the fights. Obviously I don't hold it in the high regard that most seem too

I am glad I bought this game on PC. I don't know what platform you're playing on, but it would be very difficult for me to play this game well on console because of how fast paced it is.
