Do you guys think "No Russian" was the most controversial level in history?

I remember this being somewhat a big deal back in '09 when MW2 was released. I can't recall anything as surreal as that level in any game other than the the van explosion level in MW3 where you play the camera man filming his family in Paris.

Terrorism in a game about the war on terror? Idk it didn't really stand out to me at all.

I don't really find it to be controversial. Mission was fun as hell though.

It certainly shocked me. I didn't want to do anything in that mission. I made it my goal not to.

The level felt contrived and unnecessary to me. It didn't bother me, but it just felt like the devs wanted to make a splash rather than create a necessary plot piece

Not even gonna lie, I had a bit of an issue with that level. It's funny because like an above user said, I've done so so so much worse in GTA lol, but when it's presented like it was, I definitely felt it to an extent.

I thought it was an awesome mission. Makarov was an awesome villain in 2. Always in the shadows

That mission left the US CIA Operative at the scene. That left Russia to believing the US was behind the attack. Major plot piece I thought. It was the main reason they invaded the US.

I want to know how they refilmed it using different camera angles. Had to be a PC version. Man, the in depth story of the MW series really was top notch, too.

The GTA V torture mission might've outdone it

It was controversial in 2009 and for a few years after. Now? Not really. Play Hatred and other games like that now. Gunning down innocent sprites in video games isn't polarizing anymore.

Nah, there have been a lot worse, just not as popular or well known. It's up there though. Gunning down civilians wasn't new when CoD did it.

I didn't get the controversy at all. It was a fun mission and no different from shooting random civilians on the streets of Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto.
