Did they buff some of the bosses in bloodborne for NG+?

I'm picking the game back up and I'm at Darkbeast Paarl and I've died probably 80 times. I know NG+ is tougher in general, but I never remember any boss being this difficult, even Eberietas or whatever the frick that boss is called.

I can get it down to about 1/3 health and then it just goes fricking berserk, shooting electricity, multiple swipes, lunges, etc.

I'm using gear that protects against bold damage and am using arcane on my weapon. anyone have any tips? This is getting beyond frustrating
