I just picked up Diablo 3 a few days ago since it was on sale. I really enjoyed the first two games in the series, and remember them as being pretty difficult. Diablo 3 is a lot of fun too, but it seems really, really easy. I'm in Act II and not only have I not died once, I can only think of one time when my health was reduced to less than half. I haven't used a single healing potion all game long. I started on Normal difficulty but turned it up to Hard, but haven't really noticed a difference. Anyone else have this experience with this game?

I played the shite out of it when it dropped and yeah, the main baddies are stupid easy to kill. I haven't played the game in a good 2 years now though so not sure if it's been changed at all but I remember barely even trying at some points even on the hardest difficulty.

Get to the end of the game and play on Torment 13, then talk.

Also, the game has difficulties beyond Normal and Hard. If you think the game is too easy on those, then maybe try a harder difficulty before complaining about the difficulty.

So play with the game settings set to die once and the game ends in Hell mode. That should present a challenge.

..hint - you will not be able to complete it.

I've bumped it up to Expert. No change. I can't bump it any higher until I complete the game at least once.

That's normal. It doesn't really get challenging until you start doing higher level grater rifts or torment levels.

You haven't even beaten normal story mode?

For diablo that's like complaining that a game sucks when you haven't beaten the opening tutorial level.

Maybe so. Just a much different experience than the first two games.

I found the game pretty difficult when it first came out and then one of the first big patches really dialed it down and now it is a lot easier. I also haven't played in about a year or so though, so maybe that has changed. I still love playing Diablo 2 tho.

Diablo 3 isn't a difficult game in any sense of the word. The developers completely suck, and don't know how to make a hard game with the exception of exponentially inflating monster HP and damage per difficulty setting.

Blizzard has gotten completely manhandled by Path of Exile and their developers.

I forgot about that. That die only once and the game ends mode is a pain in the arse.

I suppose the only way to defeat it is to be sentenced to life in prison and placed in solitary confinement with a game console.

I found that a lot of it is the fact that higher difficulties net you better gear. Kind of offsets the tougher enemies in a way.
