I know that feel bro. I'm one of those types who likes to have a "balanced" character. Worst thing you could do for this game. Decide on a build an go all in with it. I was like you in that I wasn't about to start over.
Protip for catacombs. Get and use the light spell. I forget the name but you can get it from the chick you rescue from the hydra in dark root. Made tomb of the giants so much easier. If you're in catacombs then that's next.
Thinking back I don't know how I didn't break stuff my first play thru of this.

I agree. I try to get digital for the most part now. I only get physical copies if a digital one isnt available or if getting a disc on eBay or something is significantly healer.
My dark souls copy I got from a guy on Craigslist for about $10-15. I think he stole it from redbox

I guess Demon's Souls on PS3. Nothing else that I've played that I can really think of. Trust me, for $5 it's worth a shot. I won't say it's everyone's cup of tea, but those who like it can't seem to put it down for stretches. It will take over your subconscious (and conscious at times)
