it was merely for reference. Ive seen them as low as 70 to as much as 100.

i had a million in gold and each cannon was 200K so i just did all 3 at the same time

Just wait till you get into that 4-6 day waiting period... I check a lot during the day mainly to donate troops because there is an achievement for 5000, and 25000.... Other than that it is just to empty out the gold/elixir just in case I forget and get attacked when shield runs out.

It really isn't bad, you learn to get used to it and know to train something that takes elixir along with something that takes gold so that you don't have too much of either in case of a raid. Plus having 4 builders help, I don't think it is possible to wait that long with only 3
