Civilization VI offers new ways to interact with your world, expand your empire across the map, advance your culture, and compete against history’s greatest leaders to build a civilization that will stand the test of time.

Originally created by legendary game designer Sid Meier, Civilization is a turn-based strategy game in which you attempt to build an empire to stand the test of time. Become Ruler of the World by establishing and leading a civilization from the Stone Age to the Information Age. I was quite excited initially, until I saw the art style of the game. It looks like Clash of Clans...

Ouch.

Hopefully the shorted graphics mean more effort in other area, then I could forgive.

But shouldn't devs learn from the Tony Hawk disaster?

We don't like WoW graphics.

I'm concerned the game is going to be diluted of all complexity for the sake of accessibility.

Firaxis said point blank in the press release they're eager to bring in new fans. If they're willing to change the art style of the game to mimic some F2P knock off from the app store, what else are they willing to alter?

Chances that this game won't be worth buying until they release 4 or 5 expansions running the total bill up close to $120?

I actually liked the art style. The biggest problem now is the unoriginal goals they copy/pasted into every level and how over half the official levels feel like they could've been created in the park editor.

Framerate is better and it's a lot less buggy. I got it for $25. For that price, I was satisfied. Certainly not worth $60.

That said, that screenshot makes me think Civ 6 is going to be released in mobile devices.

Happy to see new Civ on the horizon but I still want a new civilization revolution for the current gen console. I played the ever living shite out of Civ Rev on my old 360.

Looks a lot like Civilization Revolution from the 360. Hope it's not anything like that

Polygon article with game details.

Reddit is kinda pissed about the art design, but who cares, honestly. Better graphics never means better game, especially not in a frikkin RTS

Civilization 6 is not the same. It demands that you place your city improvements in geographic locations in hexes around the city, which best take advantage of that building's boosts and functions.

IOW they robbed from Warlock 2

I'll probably continue to play Civ V for a long time considering how shitty it was initially. Now years later it's the best it's ever been. Not sure how I feel about the graphis. I'm sure the pictures posted are of a close zoom, but I kind of liked the simplicity of the graphics.

I just bought the complete edition of civ v for under 15 bucks.

Looks a whole lot better than this one. Just curb stomped a city state heavy lake map with Poland

I'm honestly surprised how little flak Firaxis has taken for the shoddy state of both Civ V and BE on release. Both required multiple expansion before they were "good."
