Returning to their roots

they've probably been developing this for the past 3 years. i really doubt they can fully develop a game within a year. i feel like this is a "we can finally reveal something" moment for activision. i'm on board.

According to the publisher and Sledgehammer games, multiplayer elements coming to Call of Duty: WW2 include a new social feature which sounds a bit like the Tower in Destiny.

Called Headquarters, this is a place where players can “rally and interact” with their fellow soldiers.

Another feature is Divisions which is CoD:WW2’s version of Create-a-Class and character customization. Players will be able to enlist in a division and progress through the ranks.

Finally, there’s War, which a narrative-driven mode providing a “new layer” to Axis vs Allies team play.

Again, the full multiplayer revel will take place at E3 2017 in June.

Nazi Zombies are back.

As a fan of treyarch zombies, I never got excited for the IW and AW zombies. Advanced Warfare is just a joke and IW wasn't that bad but didnt come close to the zombies of W@W, Black Ops 1, 2, & 3.

They said that the zombies in the new call of duty is more of a horror type thing. So thats exciting.

Word from Activision on Zombies:
quote:

The definitive World War II next generation experience also introduces Nazi Zombies, an all-new cooperative mode featuring a unique standalone storyline set during World War II that’s full of unexpected, adrenaline-pumping action.

There's going to be women in the game. So now I get to be bitched at by a woman in a video game for not noticing her new helmet and boots

Pretty sure I'll have to get am Xbone just for this. Never pulled the trigger (thankfully) for Halo's MCC, so this might finally be the ticket.

Definitely wanna buy for PC. The campaign is gonna be the most realistic campaign in all of Call of Duty history. Real events

No auto health and No auto Ammo regeneration either. If you get hurt, you will have to ask the medic to help you. Same with ammo and asking for ammo.

Haven't been this excited since BO2

The aspect I am disappointed with is the focus on an only American campaign, taking place from 1944-1945. I would have loved a more diverse campaign truly demonstrating how WWII was a WORLD war. A campaign as the British, Soviets, or even a new perspective as the Germans in 1939-1944 would have been ideal for me, much less including anything in the Pacific theater. They said it would focus on a private in the 1st division (big red one) from DDay to crossing the Rhine. Call of Duty made that campaign already. It was called Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. Overall, I am excited; but I must say my excitement is dampened by such a narrow focus.

The campaign focus comes off as "WW2s greatest hits" albums type deal. Remember when y'all stormed the beaches of Normandy in video games 15 years ago? Well now you can do it again, in 4k!

Future releases. They are probably doing a big reset to their game strategy and will proceed down the same blueprint that began in the 2000s. It has been over 11 years since COD3 and 9 years for COD WaW. Whole new gaming generation to start on.

They thought about doing that but decided to sacrifice diversity for story. And I'm completely okay with that. Video games are an excellent medium to tell a complete and cohesive story that is also immersive. Following a singular squad from the D-Day invasion to V-E Day seems like a good idea IMO.

We might see all of this. They aren't going to jump to future warfare in 2018. I'll bet Activision stays historical for the next 3 game cycle (stating with WWII).

Maybe they will include a Normandy mission. I still think Normandy on Medal of Honor Frontline is the GOAT mission.
I played the frick out of Frontline as a kid. Normandy and the countryside level are two of the most iconic missions in the game.
