I have a friend who owns both a ps4 and an Xbox One. Since buying his Xbox One, he buys all his multi platform games on the Xbox One. He says it's not because he plays multiplayer with friends over Xbox Live but because he is trying to grow his library of Xbox One games.

I do not understand this mindset at all. Does anyone else do this? My thoughts are to buy the game on the best platform which between the two is almost always PS4 due to more powerful hardware.

First of all, lets get this out of the way XB1>>>>>>PS4

Secondly, if I had a PS4, I'd buy the multiplat for whichever console i had more friends playing it on.

Depends which console he has more friends on. If the game is single player only and he got it for Xbox, than that was dumb of him

If its a first person shooter, racing game, or one i'll be spending a lot of time online I'll go Xbox one. The Xbox controller just feels better for those game and Live has been more reliable than PS network. If its a fighting or action game like Batman or Assassins Creed I'll go PS4.

I bought an Xbox One well before I bought my PS4 and I had this same question for awhile. What system do I buy my games for? I really don't have a preference of system yet.

When it comes to some games though like Fifa, I will always play that on Xbox because I'm a level 83 on the EASFC and I don't want to lose that progress. I also have played all my telltale games on my xbox. However, I bought the Witcher on PS4. I don't really know why, but I just thought that seemed like the system to buy for it. I'll also buy Kingdom Hearts 3 for PS4 because I think it's a sin to play it on anything other than a playstation.

I think when it comes down to it, I'll end up buying most of my games for my Xbox, just because I've always preferred the xbox. Also, I plan on buying that new xbox controller which will just give me a reason to do so. I never really wanted a playstation for anything but The Show, which is 100% why I bought it.

It's really all just personal preference.

I'm assuming he is talking about some games running better on PS4 due to it being the console being developed on. Much like 360 being the dominant console for devs last gen.

IMO there aren't enough differences to justify one over the other in this regard.

I buy multiplats for the system I like playing on more. I honestly like the PS4 controller better than the Xbone controller (maybe due to just using it more) so I usually pick PS4. Plus I am a trophy whore. Well I guess also, the majority of my friends have PS4 as well.

You basically described exactly why I prefer playing on Xbox. Plus when I am playing on the One I am usually in a party with some of friends even if I am playing a single player game.

Plus I feel mentally challenged every time I attempt to use the PS4 controller since I largely skipped the PS3 and my PS2 playing stopped once I got Halo.

My brain cant comprehend the sticks apparently

Because if it's the worse version of it and you willingly choose it without any benefit, then you've made a questionable decision. Not sure how that's tough to break down.

Edit: Unless the controller really affects you that much. Never really did for me. I picked the better version last gen, and will do so this gen as well.

The differences are minor. Most people play on the platform they prefer. If everyone wanted the superior version all the time then they would play on PC most of the time.

The games are rarely different and graphics aren't the number one priority to a lot of people.

If my #1 concern was graphics I would just play everything on PC.

Once Xbox one goes to full capacity with playing 360 games, all of the 360 users will end up coming over.

The reason to own ur 360 still and not buy ps4 or xbone, was because of being able to play all of the good games, which are 100 times better than any of the other consoles have.

Now, u will get a good catalog of old games on xbone, plus some games coming over to Xbone from 360, such at World of tanks, etc.
