The witcher 3 reminds me a lot of Red Dead if it was based in a medieval setting. Very gritty with good dialogue and a fantastic story. The voice acting is SUPPERB. A lot of little things were given great care and thought and nothing about it was neglected in development at all (looking at you Mass Effect).
Breath of the Wild is probably the cream of the crop when it comes to just solid, unforgiving RPGs. Given it also has a master mode, just about every single enemy can kill you in less than 3 hits if you're unprepared. Your weapons break really easily and the environment is just as much of an enemy as anything else. Witcher 3 is tough, but at their absolute hardest difficulty wise, BotW wipes the floor with the Witcher.
I can't really say anything for Horizon. Never played it. Probably never will either.
Little note: There's a lot of sexual humor in BotW. A Zora that regrets not copulating with you. A sheikah tribe member that has a birthmark on her arse. Literally having to cross dress to progress the story. A school made specifically in a certain town for loving and kissing men.
tl;dr: A lot of fricking horny people in this game.

I question if you have played the previous 3D Zelda's (N64 forward) if you can't admit BoTW dungeons are a weak point compared to the previous games, the divine beasts and the boss inside them are all basically the same thing. That and the story were a sacrifice of expanding the world compared to previous entries is the series. Hopefully in the next Zelda Nintendo can improve upon the foundation.

For you Witcher 3 guys, where did the game really pull you in? How many hours or what significant quest did it get you?
When I first started playing it I was into it, but it eventually just felt too big. I would run into enemies that were wayyyyy out of my league. The last big thing I remember from my game was the story with the dead baby fetus thing.
I feel like it was relatively early in the game. Where does that part fall into the rest of the game?

The Bloody Baron mission was what really sucked me in. Very well done.
Bloody Baron stuff is basically the first big push in the story when you get to Velen. If I had to put a number on it, I'd say that's maybe five-eight percent into the vanilla game.
Not sure how others played, but I basically got to a new town/area and took everything off the bulletin board. It highlights not just new side quests and contract missions, but points of interest, too. Then I'd knock out all those that I was appropriately leveled to do. If I came across a POI that had a red skull icon, I'd skip them and save for later. Then, I'd move on to the next area.

Yeah I don't know if it was play time or just the quality of that quest.
Witcher 3 is such an awesome game. My only real big complaint is the length of dialogue. I hate on Uncharted for being a cut scene game but some Witcher 3 conversation cut scenes are too long.

I had that feeling as well a few times when trying to push through the first few hours. It started to clear up and I think a more structured approach lined up.

I was pretty much pulled in right whenever I finished in White Orchard and got to the Velen map and realized that I had a LONG way to go. Even more so when I got to Skellige.

The thing you have to realize is that a lot of the stuff are things you don't have to do. You can beat the game doing on a small number of side missions and don't feel the need to check out every '?'. I just did it because I'm completionist and got tired of looking at them.
However, I do recommend doing as many sidequests as possible because there is a chance for solid loot and they typical aren't super shitty to partake in.

One of the best parts of the DLC is when Geralt takes mushooms/acid and Rouche starts talking to him. Rouche gets pissed that he is just in the way.

So much this, I was getting frustrated a little early on because some of my gear/equiment was lacking but after hitting a few of the question marks, that changed very quickly
